- All models except the 16e have the Camera Control button; the 16e has one rear camera and no MagSafe.

- 6.1-inch (iPhone 16, 16e): the most compact choice in the family.
- 6.3-inch (16 Pro): Pro cameras in a size that still fits one hand for many people.

- 6.9-inch (16 Pro Max): the largest screen and the biggest battery of the series.
Key differences between iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro
- Display: the Pro models have a 120 Hz ProMotion always-on display; the 16 and 16 Plus run at 60 Hz.
- Cameras: the Pro models add a 48 MP ultra-wide and a 5x telephoto.
- Build: titanium frame on the Pro, aluminum on the 16 and 16 Plus.
- Shared features: all four have the Action button, Camera Control, Apple Intelligence support and MagSafe.
iPhone 16 vs iPhone 16e
The iPhone 16e has the same screen size and A18 chip family as the iPhone 16, but it saves money with one 48 MP rear camera, no Camera Control, no MagSafe and a notch instead of the Dynamic Island. It also has a different body, so an iPhone 16 case does not fit the 16e.
iPhone 16 series vs iPhone 17 series
The iPhone 17 (September 2025) brought a 6.3-inch 120 Hz display to the base model, the A19 chip, a 48 MP ultra-wide camera, a new 18 MP Center Stage front camera and 256 GB of storage as standard. When the iPhone 17 series arrived, Apple stopped selling the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Which case fits which iPhone 16 model?
Every iPhone 16 model needs its own case:
- iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 have different camera layouts, so iPhone 15 cases do not fit the iPhone 16.
- The Camera Control button on the side needs a matching opening.
